Becoming more popular on Instagram can make all the difference to how your business is doing and can open a lot of doors – here is how to do so.
1. Link your social media accounts
Facebook actually owns Instagram. Link up your two accounts; doing so lets you post on multiple social media sites with very little effort.
When you link up your accounts, anything you put on Instagram can also be streamed to Facebook. That means that all of your Facebook followers can see what you are doing, and they may decide to follow you on Instagram as well. In addition, if they like or comment on your Facebook post, all of their friends could potentially see what you are doing as well.
On Instagram, it is very simple to push a button and follow all of your Facebook friends.
2. Share pictures where the people can connect
If you look at the most popular Instagram accounts, you will notice certain similarities in their pictures. For one, the pictures are unique. They are also images that Instagram users can relate with; the pictures evoke certain emotions in their audience. You don’t need to have “perfect” pictures; in fact, you don’t want that at all. Instead, make sure the picture is real and honest. You’ll get a lot more comments and likes that way.
Show off who you are on Instagram. If you are honest, others will want to engage with you.
3. Don’t forget about hashtags
Instagram and Twitter are similar in that they both use hashtags. One thing you need to remember about them is that you should only use hashtags that have something to do with your image.
A lot of people use the search engine on Instagram because they want to find certain pictures. Pictures are visual; many people prefer to look at a picture or video rather than read written words. Aim to put three hashtags in your post. If you put too many, some users may consider your post to be spam. The ultimate goal is to get people to either like or comment on your picture; this activity leads to new followers.
4. Include a call to action
Ask the person viewing your picture to do something. Use words like “comment,” “tell me” or “like if you…”. Users that see a call to action are more likely to actually engage with a picture. And, the more engagement you have, the more likely you are to get new followers.
5. Filters are important
Filters are the reason that Instagram initially received so much attention. They make the pictures special, and you are able to add your own personal touch to the image through the filters that you use. When you create an image that others find interesting, they are more likely to like or comment on your picture. Eventually, they may follow you as well.
